Kevin Parker, who for years has brought psychedelic vibes and hippie sensibilities to the psych-rock music of Tame Impala, is finally venturing into the apparel space with a brand new collaboration with the Parisian fashion brand A.P.C.
The capsule collection, which officially drops July 18, is inspired by “psychedelic minimalism,” bringing bold patterns and vibrant color to the brand’s simple designs. According to a press release, Parker’s references for the capsule included the post-hippie communes and intentional-living communities of ’70s Australia, giving way to the lineup’s loose, flowing silhouettes and earthy, pastel tones.

Tame Impala A.P.C Collection
“When my daughter introduced me to Tame Impala, it struck me as a synthesis of everything I’ve liked since the 1960s, from Soft Machine to Pink Floyd,” A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou, said in a statement. “I immediately loved their musical singularity and their deceptively casual style.”

Aside from Parker’s personal style, the unique brand of psychedelia that the artist brings to the stage as Tame Impala can be seen in some of the collection’s headlining pieces such as multicolored alpaca sweaters and striped cotton corduroy trousers, paired with accessories like logo-branded bucket hats, shades and a shoulder bag. One white cotton t-shirt is screen-printed with the band’s song “breathe deeper.”
The forthcoming capsule is the latest in A.P.C’s ongoing series of collaborations, with everyone from Catherine Denevue and Jane Birkin to Katie Holmes to Kid Cudi. Its headline-grabbing collaboration with Kanye West, which featured an $120 plain white t-shirt, was unsurprisingly one of its buzziest partnerships in recent years.
Tame Impala’s capsule with A.P.C officially releases Thursday, July 18 at 8 a.m ET/ 5 a.m PT online and in-stores.
